ABOUT

30 years ago in 1988, Jamaica fielded a historical winter olympic entry, now memorialized as the famous  ` Jamaica Bobsled Team. ‘

As the federation enters its 30th year, it is fitting to recognize that once again the team is representing the island of world famous athletes, this time with `women of distinction.’

Having been an original founding member of the federation and team, it is my honour to congratulate them on this historic moment and in commemoration of this, we are providing (for the first time ever) a series of music songs that were part of the 1988 period, as well as, songs from the movie Cool Runnings including the single ” Rise Above it. “

We have agreed to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of these downloads to the foundation and as well (based on demand) re-release the original T-shirt designs and apparel to assist with future fundraising efforts for the team. Click to buy now

I wish to acknowledge as well, a few facts for historicity.

The original merchandise and T-shirts were designed by my advertising agency Dapech Communications with Pierre Lemaire as lead designer.
They were originally distributed by Sun Island and have not been on the market since. We will be asking you to pre-order from the catalogue (but not pay until the order is confirmed) Please visit the ” Merchandise Page ” to pre-order the items you want.

The songs from 1988 consists of the original (and very first theme song produced in their honour) entitled  `Hobbin an a Bobbin’  which is available for download purchase (see link below)  It features Bob Andy, Dean Fraser and others and was co produced and composed by PCHarris & Peter Couch for Rockstone Music/Cornerstone records. The movie Cool Runnings featured the band Lock stock and Barrel (including members from Rocabessa band  “Satisfaction”) with the hit single ” Rise Above it with  “Howard Chen “. It includes 10 other tracks on the album.
